Overview
Reporting directly to the CEO, this position will be primarily responsible for the following:
Responsibilities
Finance Administration
- Lead a small team of accounting resources
- Responsible for monthly and quarterly metrics, financial and management reporting
- Work closely with C&M Portfolio finance team on all financial related matters.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly and quarterly consolidated financial reporting package to ensure compliance of internal and external reporting requirements in accordance with IFRS
- Monitor and enforce Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
- Manage ‘Quarterly Strategic Review’ (QSR) process, using extensive excel modeling, pipeline and costs analysis to prepare a robust forecast
- Ensure execution of action points from the QSR review process
Financial Management
- Act as a business partner to the CEO and senior leadership team
- Provide strategic financial leadership on issues affecting the business
- Recommend and lead efforts to improve ROIC (return on invested capital) and/or growth performance
Mergers and Acquisitions
- Pre-acquisition
- Information gathering and Q&A with prospect companies
- Detailed bottom-up, multi-scenario financial modelling
- Due diligence, including reviewing and assessing financial statements, financial history by customer, and detailed A/R and WIP analysis
- Market, competition, and industry risk and opportunity research
- Preparing business summaries, investment memos, model analysis charts and commentaries, and responding to detailed Q&A
- Post acquisition
- Integration of acquired companies into corporate systems and processes
- Coaching of management and finance teams on application of processes and systems
Governance & Risk
- Apply best practices to processes, people and systems to affect revenue, profitability and cash-flow, to improve operating efficiency and performance.
- Responsible for Risk Management process review, policy standardization and process improvements.
- Oversee and improve effective administration processes and systems for company records and contracts.
- Stay up-to-date on trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance for the finance functions.
Legal
- Work closely with all functional leads to ensure projects bids and contract terms, financial and otherwise, adhere to corporate parameters.
- Coordinate all legal activities internally and with external legal.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
- Professional Accounting Designation & MBA is preferred
- Minimum 7+ years of progressive financial experience in a leadership role
- Must have senior management and M&A experience
- Strategic thinker with strong leadership skills
- Project Management expertise with a proven track record of successful execution
- Strong attention to detail while handling multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong business acumen as well as knowledgeable in IFRS
- Proven track record of building strong relationships
- Works collaboratively and relates effectively to others by consulting with employees, colleagues, partners, clients, users and stakeholders
- Hand-on contributor to all aspects of the finance function
- Effectively transfers knowledge
- Travel to the various offices will be required
